Dubai-based, Emirates Airline, The national airline of United Arab Emirates has announced their plans for a 3rd daily round-trip service between New York’ John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) and Dubai International Airport (DXB) in Dubai, UAE. Complementing their current twice daily Airbus A380 service and a daily Boeing 777 service between New York and Milan. Bringing the middle eastern carrier to 4 daily flights out of New Yorks-JFK.
The carrier plans on operating the new service with their luxury flagship – Airbus A380 Superjumbo aircraft; bring Emirates to 3 daily A380 services between; New York’ largest and busiest airport JFK and Dubai International Airport, UAE busiest airport.
Emirates’ currently operates a fleet of 54 A380 Superjumbo’, configured in two different layouts. Configuration A – features 489 seats including 14 First Class Private Suites, 76 Business Class lie-flat beds and 399 Economy Class seats on the main deck. Its upper deck features Emirates’ onboard lounge for premium passengers. However, First Class Travelers has access to a private shower and spas. All Emirates Airbus A380 features onboard Wi-Fi access; USB outlets and other charging outlets and more than 18 hundred stations; along with Music’s, Movies, TV Shows and Games in more than ten different languages.
Configuration B features the same three-class layout with 14 First Class seating, 76 Business Class. Economy Class is fitted with 517 seats, which is 18 more than configuration A. The less cramp version; Configuration A will be used on A380 service between New York and Dubai.
The new inbound service from Dubai will be operating as EK 207 and will depart Dubai at 2:50 PM Dubai Time and arrive at New York’s JFK at 8:35 PM EST (New York Time). The Return service operating as EK 208 will be departing JFK at 4:30 PM New York Local Time and arrive in Dubai at 1:15 PM Dubai Local Time the following day.

Adding this fourth service will give our passengers, even more, choice of connectivity when flying from any part of our global network, in particular, the Far East and South Asia. Once in the US, our partnership with JetBlue adds even more seamless connectivity onto their network of 65 destinations from JFK.”

The fourth daily service will commence March 8th, 2015. With JetBlue and Emirates codeshare agreement; the new service will benefit both airlines. The night arrival offers travelers transferring to Los Angeles, Las Vegas, San Francisco and other west coast destination a great red eye travel time for early morning arrival into their west coast destination. Members of Skywards, Emirates’ frequent flyer program, can earn miles on JetBlue-operated flights as well as redeem miles for flights to any of JetBlue destinations to and from North America, the Caribbean and JetBlue latest service to and from South America. Vice versa; members of JetBlue’s TrueBlue loyalty frequent flyer program can earn points on any of Emirates operated flights worldwide.

MY EMIRATES NEW YORK THEORY
As Emirates places a bullseye on the U.S market; aiming to make the U.S it’s primary revenue source as they look to expand by adding more flights and destination. Will Emirates ever look to make New York an International Hub? Would that make sense? It’s a question I ask; JetBlue operates its main base at New York’s-JFK with service to more than 100 destinations in the United States and over 40 International Service. JetBlue set to open its international base at Terminal 5; many are asking; could the design incorporates both an A380 and 777 ramps as of November 6th JetBlue doesn’t operate anything larger than the Airbus A321 and has no plans to.
After coming back down to earth with this idea. I think to myself; how would this work; which destination would Emirates offer first? And what would be the benefits of New York City Hub for Emirates? With Dubai International at a capacity, Dubai World, the superjumbo airport still under construction, and with the rapid expansion of Emirates, it would make perfect sense for the airline to look at New York for an International Hub.
